A Merry Christmas and in Kindness, Share
A thought for those less fortunate,
those alone, without family,
stricken by the loss of loved ones
and struggling to smile,
despite the joy of the Christmas season.
Religion aside,
the holidays are about family,
sharing and kindness,
and for those alone and isolated
any small kindness can make their day.
So appreciate what you have,
how ever great, however small,
and remember Christmas is not about money,
expensive gifts and lavish meals,
its about sharing and thanks giving.
Love is what most religions proffer,
yet so often that concept is lost
in the lead up to Christmas,
being time-poor, stressed out
and feeling obligated to spend, spend, spend.
Be kind to yourself,
to your family and to all humanity,
all creatures living in this our paradise,
and let love and kindness be your guide
in sharing Christmas, or whatever religious holiday.
A thought for those who struggle
during this time,
and even a smile of acceptance
is worth more than any gift,
any material sharing.
Wishing everyone
a Christmas of peace and kindness,
and for those wanting,
a new found hope for a better future,
a world of more tolerance and acceptance.

Such a beautiful message, Tony, with the reminder to reach out to those in need. A hug or smile can be more cherished than any gift when someone just needs to know love. For the last several years I have spent Christmas morning alone. At first that really bothered me, made me so sad, but after time it made me realize there are so many people who are alone on Christmas, so I light candles and spend that time in meditation, sending out love and peace, in hopes someone may sense that someone cares.
Are you going to be with your sons on Christmas? I wish for a loving, blessed Christmas day for you. xx
Thanks Phyllis, that is a wonderful effort of kindness, even though being alone. We are having Christmas here at home with my two sons and my older son’s fiance. We have lost the usual Christmas with Grandparents as you know and it will be sad, but we have each other. The kids are with their mother today, begrudgingly, as she is the cause of all the split in the family. They’ll be glad to get home, away from her. Sad. Anyway much love and peace for you on Christmas and holidays. Take care. xx
A heartwarming message. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas. You talk about sadness me and my cat Sid will be sitting by a ceramic Christmas tree all alone with shadows of Christmases past…
Thanks Rasma, yes Christmas is a challenging time for many people. I think if we can just have love in our hearts it is often all we can do in times of loneliness or adversity. Take care.
