Read moreEveryone enjoys a good laugh from time to time. Humor writing can take many forms, including poetry, parody, and jokes. The world is filled with funny things and if kept clean, a great way to share them is through writing about them.
Humor is a literary tool that makes readers laugh. Its purpose is to break the monotony, boredom, and tedium, and helps a reader to relax. The writer uses different techniques, tools, words, and even full sentences in order to bring to light new and funny sides of life.
Different eras and regions, or locations, will have their own specialized humor that local folks respond to. For instance from 1860 to 1925, Mark Twain was the foremost figure of this period. In his own day he was classified as a literary comedian and local colorist, and it took time for the genius of his combination of humor and local color to be recognized as serious literature, which it was.
In this section you will find some good examples of this genre from our own TCE authors.
