Perilous Times
Mine eyes do deceive me,
falsehood mocks my guile,
for life did turn
and me discern not its implication,
for I am swept away by others calling,
anger quells and conflict dawning,
yet I have no say, no placation,
just the impact and devastation
of a world gone mad,
where life is cheap and hatred calling
imbues a world to darkness.
I am so removed,
my thoughts maligned and misconstrued
to accept this manic retaliation,
this dark and malevolent indication
that common sense has died,
peace just a word beside
a reality in full blown falling,
and I want no part,
no hand in aggressive action,
just a chance to love and soothe
these perilous times.
My heart aches for sanity,
egos quelled to face the truth,
for vanity is leading minds to proof
that we are dangerous,
without control and must be removed,
before this earth is burned complete,
and humanity is obsolete
as nature takes control,
to remedy what we have done,
the hurt we have caused,
every living thing abhorred by our selfish needs.
We live in perilous times,
teetering over the abyss,
all for the want of avarice,
and how can we justify our careless deeds,
when we are destroying the seeds
of our future,
which lessens by the day,
as we convey our arrogant intent,
will over common sense,
as we will no doubt pay,
for our petty wants and ignorance.

No doubt we live in perilous times. It almost seems that were going mad, nations are uprising against one another, starvation and strife in many countries, the poor are dying in the streets, children are suffering, soldiers bleeding and dying for what cause? Governments aligning themselves against their peoples, destroying and imploding within. Syria devastation, Africa in turmoil, the middle east on a hot wire edge of wars. Yes my friend, we writers can pen about much in our world, it offers up so much fodder and inspiration. The planet is on a collision course with end times, they are rapidly approaching, nuclear will end us all, which mad man will start it, we have a few too many capable of sending the world to Hell and back again. Nicely penned Tony, you always captivate me with your vocabulary.
Thanks Vincent, so pleased you enjoyed the work. I actually don’t believe we are at an end, although read the news and one could be forgiven for that conclusion. There is a raising of spiritual consciousness sweeping the world, even animals are changing and accepting one another on many levels. I believe we are watched over by many races of ET’s and know that if push comes to shove they will intervene. I’ve seen footage of a nuclear war head test missile launch. When is got to a certain height, a silver disc approached and with some ray of light destroyed the warhead. This was all captured on film and leaked out. I guess there’s a lot we don’t know. In any case I have faith that we can survive ourselves. Take care my friend.
