The Gravity of the Situation
1. Gravity in our lives.
A trifold of a science fair project
sits firmly on a table to be judged
and though a breeze, the set-up has not budged,
these forces upon this simple object.
A father stands nearby with smiles of pride
from Son’s first taste of Earth’s Physical Laws,
where every interaction has a cause
with desire to become unified.
As Earth rotates around the suns station
with understanding of this forces work,
that distance can affect relationship.
The gravity of the situation
from subatomic particles to quark
the strength behind our fond companionship.
2.) A Push From Gravity
The push behind our physiology.
The weakest player on the forces team
to pull us out of darkness as a dream,
an ode to forces, mostly gravity.
The force that folds my hand into a fist
or helps to balance me after a storm
my beating heart that keeps my fingers warm
or moving feet within a morning mist.
Though electromagnetism can bond
an opposite electric charge like us
or mysteries between the weak and strong.
The way attraction makes the heart grow fond
of moments when two bodies are held close,
these forces prove that all of us belong.
3. An Object Taking Space
An interaction can cause such a change
of movement of an object taking space.
Though weakest exhibits amazing grace
where mass and distance determine its range.
The strength of force depends upon each mass
than multiplied by gravities constant
to remember distance is important
as we tumble upon our backyard grass.
The motion behind the writing on walls,
the push behind all our hidden desires,
so be aware of all of the forces.
When examined equation makes the call,
so easy, straight forward without outliers,
our simple world the class to teach courses.
4. Space and Time
To weave the fabric of our space and time.
A bowling ball that falls upon a trampoline
to represent all the forces between
us as we gravitate towards a rhyme.
The reason behind bending of our light
around the corners where we’re dark and cold
to warm us up and help us to feel bold
to brighten visions to our heightened sight.
We saw this fabric of our lives ripple
the day we witnessed two black holes collide
to see a ring of movement from the core.
So gravity will speak to all people,
“put on your seatbelts and prepare to ride
with hands in the air we will all scream, more!”
