The Infinite Rhyme
Undulating hills abound,
greener than a green profound,
and at each crest the sight of another,
on and on to horizons dark etched line,
where sun decays to night shade,
embedded stars and moonlight thrive,
yet hills they never end,
around the world and start again.
Trees reach for risen light,
yearning, stretching in days delight,
and trees abound,
so many kinds and colors around,
each one poised to find the next,
in valley nooks, on cliffs and crooks,
an endless view of life,
around the world in living plight.
Sky the marvel of any mind,
endless scope and endless rhyme
of life’s perpetuity,
cloud arrays and infinite moods
of colors strewn across the vastness of blue,
both storms and shine excite the time
to bring us infinity,
beyond horizons intuitive.
And time wields its enigmatic soul,
dictating life in shade and bright domains,
journey’s long and dreams obey,
its rule of thumb parade,
until we look beyond the gloaming light,
half way between day and night,
where time does still to witness,
nature’s flawless cool transcendence.
And light whispers in corners,
shadows recede to keep anonymity,
while those shards of infinity
do creep into the fray,
and rise and fall it plays upon the earth,
skirting dark and in wiser mirth
illuminate the world,
to vanquish all that will not submit to its will.
