Beyond the Suffering

Beyond the Suffering
Beyond the Suffering

Within reach, if only to peel back
the shroud of daily life,
we would see the intentions, the causation
of what’s been and will be in repetition,
for we harbor addictions,
feelings we seek again and again,
and in doing that sustain
the thoughts that remain tethered,
their limitations the stagnation
that keeps us from our potential.

Minds wired to iterative thoughts,
bound by belief and the limits we aught
not address for security sake, yet
change is what we need,
to break from the seeds we have sewn,
to know our complicity is rife,
for what we do in addictions
is rob ourselves of right,
in mind and body suffer human drama,
the endless search for security.

One step further is clear,
just beyond those fears,
where positive thoughts rewire our bad habits,
and in newness engage potential,
reality’s deep warren that supersedes
those paradigms in which we live,
in which we stagnate
and remain in dramas of our fears and concerns,
about the self and identity,
that centers our focus.

The new paradigm awaits,
stripped of religious and philosophical dogma,
beyond just sensory input,
beyond sight and the delusions of the world,
to embrace a spiritual purpose,
to hone positive thoughts and actions
and revitalize our minds and bodies,
to attain health beyond nutrition,
thought beyond self-interest,
and abide the peace and tranquility afforded.

Until we relinquish our honed identity,
we will be tethered to limitations forever,
and human drama and suffering will continue.
