Commitment Understood

Our room didn’t know of it
Yet the walls spoke in volumes
A great truth, a commitment understood
Returning to conception but not as you think
The moment of happening but not singular
Carpeting whispered with each foot step
Static and energetic, remembering the contact
In this realm a simple bedroom
Others sought the wisdom of the forest trees
Stone walls and blowing sands
Each an anchor of the commitment understood
A pledge to always remember and always return
That was something held within
Something light and bright, airy and pure
Many versions have come and traveled
Words spoken, hearts and souls, moments
An energy, a force of infinite power
And complete silence
The collision of two forces
Moving across timelines and lifelines
Carefree, and yet purposeful
Ever expanding, growing, collecting
Gathering that which provides service
And releasing, returning, yet remembering
When that service has served
Celestial mountaintops
Moonlit expanses of an impossible scale
Darkness, yet only to give attention
For stars do not reveal themselves in light
Other forces on other journeys
Minds opening doorways
Forging pathways, sharing collective spaces
Some burn out, fade into a slow drift
Their time spent without remorse
Others continue, perpetual, kinetic, searching
Commitment understood
This was the choosing of a day lost to time
When one and one made one
Even when distance managed the journey
The fire forever burning, forever providing
A signal, even in the depths of the cosmos
Lines dividing and multiplying
But always returning home
Always returning to the energy of unity

I write about everything and sometimes nothing at all. I'm fascinated by old things, rusty things, abandoned places, or anywhere that a secret might be unearthed. I'm passionate about history and many of my pieces are anchored in one concept of time or another. I've always been a writer, dating back to my youth, but the last decade has been a time of growth for me. I'm continually pushing the limitations of vocabulary, syntax, and descriptive phrasing.
