His Voice Will Live On – A Tribute to Charlie Kirk

Unafraid, he sat peacefully under the canopy
An island of human decency
His shores awash with a blur of microphones and stadium lights
Yet never once did he succumb
Never once did he surrender
Sharp-jawed, with eyes ablaze with certainty of fact
He was indeed a vessel for truth
Speak his name, and do not let it be forgotten
His voice will live on
Charlie Kirk is not a whisper
He is a broadcast, a generational message
A livewire of high voltage illuminating young faces
A beacon to those without direction
Of those who needed the world explained in simple terms
So he built an empire with words
Freedom of speech and true debate were his building blocks
Not bricks nor mortar, nor stones being thrown
And it grew
With each headline and the sudden heat of outrage
Each day evolving but remaining unbiased
Blurring the line between debate and sermon
He opened eyes that paved the way for disruption
Narratives and their purveyors were forced to defend said narrative
Without persecution, judgement, or humiliation
Facts were his ammunition
The war was fought in lecture halls and glowing screens
His audience curious and combative
Some leaning forward, others away
Applause and jeers, laughter and angst
His conviction to the truth never wavered
But outside of his circle others watched with unease
Names shouted, their branding irons hot and at the ready
His voice and his message not only clarity of truth
But a thunderous heave against their position
And yet, he gave their voices a platform to speak
Honest debate, their words against his
And the best man would always win
Charlie Kirk
His name is not just a name
It was a signal; a rallying cry for some
A trumpeting call to open up to deeper thought
And a warning flare for others
Now, the martyr lies in rest
No longer free to pave the future with absolutes
Our champion now gone
And with him, promises of battles won through rhetoric
Those who resisted freedom of speech celebrate
Continuing to resist the mirror presented
Fearful of seeing their own fractured reflection
Facing the truth without a jacket of propaganda
His legend has only just begun
Always certain of the story he told
Now but an echo
The crowds no longer remain
Yet no one will forget his name
His voice will live on
Charlie Kirk
May He Rest in Peace

I write about everything and sometimes nothing at all. I'm fascinated by old things, rusty things, abandoned places, or anywhere that a secret might be unearthed. I'm passionate about history and many of my pieces are anchored in one concept of time or another. I've always been a writer, dating back to my youth, but the last decade has been a time of growth for me. I'm continually pushing the limitations of vocabulary, syntax, and descriptive phrasing.
