A Link Within Our Worldly Chain
Imagine the collective sigh
When every voice called to the sky
Open hands were welcomed in
Regardless of their size or skin
Body hugs and laughter shared
All our troubles hence repaired
Our banquet lain, with food aplenty
Share until the bowls are empty
Conversations, hopeful words
Things the world has never heard
Togetherness, without a fight
Peaceful days, and quiet nights
Thoughts engaged, minds expanding
Rising higher, no fearful landing
Teachers teaching, noble truths
Knowledge passing to our youth
Such the sound, a single voice
Yet every person having choice
Resounding joy, each life in tune
Emergence from our thick cocoon
Walls collapsing, borders too
Populations moving through
No more need for single nations
Our moment of true integration
Led by those with future vision
Collective in our world decision
Understanding now, the way of we
Exactly how things need to be
The human race, our worldly chain
Each link is strong, each link the same
Perfection found in mutual love
Imagination and things above
Harmony, the noble cause
A future sight, not how it was
Our past holds tales of brutal things
Wasted lives, for crowns and rings
Many too, those cautious tales
Times of blade and hammered mail
Towers tall when tyrants reigned
Blood was spilled, and history stained
Not forget, no we must keep faith
What lies inside this human race
Compassionate souls, welcome arms
Giving love, not dealing harm
In humble voice, I send this plea
Choose the path for you and me
Surrender hate, release the pain
Become a link on the worldly chain
Reaching out with purest heart
Each of us can be a part
Changing paths, and changing lives
All you need, you have inside
The will of spirit, a helping hand
Spreading joy across the land
A single step can bring us through
You love me, and I’ll love you

R.J. Schwartz is an American Poet and Author.
His most recent book, Hope – Inspirational and Spiritual Poetry comes from his own personal journey of redemption, understanding, and spiritual growth. Our past is there to teach us the lessons of our future, and without some pain, it is often difficult to understand compassion. Without heartache and betrayal, we might miss what true love looks like. Yet, we mustn’t dwell on those transgressions, but rather find encouragement to renew our thinking, embrace that which brings inner peace and a high vibration, and share the goodness whenever possible.

All the leaders of our world need to read this and understand it. Shame they don’t. I despair that they never will.
Lovely words.
