Tis The Season, For Joy Without Reason
The gentle calm of midwinter night, filled with such a wonderous sight
Noble pines dressed all in white, while mischievous snowflakes dancing in flight
I say now! Peace to behold! To both the youth and the old
It’s worth more than the silver or gold, or the tales being told
More than boughs of pine and of holly, and the man, oh so jolly
Gifts for the lads, it’s a trolley, and the lasses, the dolly’s
Think the joyous expression, at the main street procession
How the musical session, leaves such a lasting impression
Colorful wrappings, brought with all of the trappings
Tales’ worth recapping, and the bountiful clapping
More than tables quite filled, and the gatherers thrilled
When excitement does build, dreams of hopes soon fulfilled
As the gifts laid beneath, and the door gets a wreath
All the tasks near complete, and the mood so upbeat
You’ll see the joy without reason, always steady and even
Celebrating the season, with what thoughts you believe in
Oh yes, the symbols are many, and traditions aplenty
Exchanges, some heavy, while some, mere a penny
Windows bathed in candlelight, laughter of the winter sprite
Antique sleigh soon taking flight, lasting notes, our hands to write
Parents often reminisce, seasons past, timeless bliss
Quiet corner, that loving kiss, wishful thoughts to those we miss
Stillness as the moon doth rise, hope for all, it fills the skies
Some recall three men so wise, others bid the sun inside
A festive song still rides the air, peace, and love for all to share
Quiet thoughts, timely prayer, all the senses now aware
As the midnight chimes, into bed do we climb
Thoughts not with rhymes, only Christmastime
In the wee hours before dawn, before the chaos and song
May your troubles be gone, and the joy carry on
This is my wish, one worthy and true,
Good tidings, peace, and blessings to you!
