Wasted Talent

Wasted Talent …

wasted talent

Just when you think you have “the world by the lapels,” life happens. Too many people find themselves wandering on this path of no return, where the little winged creature on their shoulders has all but vanished and the small horned cretin is always there spewing falsehoods. The reports always state, they died in their sleep, meanwhile they’ve been asleep at the wheel for far too long, with no one noticing or caring. This is a Haiku style poem using titles from Stone Temple Pilots songs. Tragically their lead singer, Scott Weiland died from a drug overdose of cocaine, MDA, and alcohol, all the while dealing with health conditions such as atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, asthma and multi-substance dependance.  He died in his sleep.

Wasted Talent

How her Sins unfurl

when she paints, this Art School Girl

Tomorrow, the world—

Still Remains hardened

Days of the Week disheartened

Her Wicked Garden…

Big Empty Meadows

A space Where the River Goes

where her Black Heart shows

Lonely Daisy hides

This Sour Girl, her eyes lie,

Same on the Inside

Cry, Cry why does she?

Too Cool Queenie her eyes see,

Pains Creep from her tree

The Bagman comes soon

Bi-Polar Bear wants her spoon

White Cinnamon dunes

A Song for Sleeping

Naked Sunday housekeeping

First Kiss on Mars things

Hazy Daze (Days) footnotes:

Please Pocket check her Peacoat

Plush clothes conceal dope

No Way Out, she’s tried

Daisy knows the demons’ pry,

Same on the Inside

Wonderful, her life…

Dare if You Dare, pace her miles,

Go Press Play and try.
