Northern Wind Whispered Your Name to Me – Each happiness of days gone by, are our memories of tomorrow, and the years down the road. My mom used to say the best things about memories was making them. She was so right. I truly believe in the old saying “It is better to have loved and lost, that to have never loved at all”.
“Northern Wind Whispered Your Name to Me”
The northern wind whispered your name to me,
Bringing memories when you and I were a—we.
Dirt roads, our country love songs stayed in tune,
As we tried to capture the perfect harvest moon.
In the dark, I remember the country music stirred us so,
As we explored each other as our love began to flow.
Baby, when you touched me, it blew me away,
Never wanted to leave you, I always wanted to stay.
Song “Amazed” by Lonestar will forever be our lullaby,
Country tunes, loving, and our love, made us high.
I can still remember how that music made us smile.
Happy together, we drove countless hours and miles.
The northern wind whispered your name to me,
Bringing memories when you and I were a—we.
I’ve never been that close to anything or anyone,
Never in the world did I think our love could be undone.
Something about you, within you, touched me deep inside.
I fell so, so, in love with you, thought it was a forever ride.
So many road trips and adventures that we went on,
Hard to believe how quickly they were all gone.
You were me; I was you, thought we finally had a chance,
All the years before, us looking for that one and only last dance.
Lost love is still love, it just takes a different form,
In my heart still, I wonder now, is this my forever norm?
I can’t see your smile or no longer can tousle your hair,
Wanted your life to be free and easy, in my love I still care.
But, when the northern wind whispers your name to me,
Memories abound, I hold, and cherish them, which is the key.
2019 saw the spread of the Coronavirus across the world. Then Coronavirus mutated into a different variant. Then variants such as Delta, Omicron, and then 10 other variants quickly engulfed the planet. In the year 2041, the 13th variant Tartarus became dominant. The world’s infrastructure finally collapsed – setting what remained of humanity on the brink of extinction. This was a one-man, one-dog, and one-horse’s story of survival, until Dixon Mateo rescued a girl named Alba Jesse.
In 1922, all Trent Laneetee, also known as the Crow, wanted to do was support his family. Once the state of Colorado went dry during prohibition, the most profitable way to do that was to sell his own whiskey. As Trent’s operation got larger, his business drew the attention of the Denver Mafia. They gave Laneetee an ultimatum of sharing his business and profits with the Denver Mafia or going to war with them. What the gangsters from Denver did not know – was you did not threaten Trent Laneetee.

LOL, not sure why Keith is getting kudus for my poem, but I am sure he is a wonderful fella… Thanks for stopping by and commenting Phyllis, much appreciated.
Beautifully sad, beautifully written.
My heart goes out to the broken hearted couple. ❤️
Their love must’ve been one of a kind.
Well written—it touched my heartstrings and brought a tear to my eye.
Irene their love was one of a kind, and it is a sad tale indeed that it ended the way it did. You never know maybe life and love will turn around for them, and they will be one with the other someday. Only time will tell. Thank you for stopping by and commenting on this piece.
