Harvest Moon with Love
The harvest moon came with love,
and rose yellow in the sky,
the winds whipped about,
somewhere in my memories –
I saw your face reflected above.
So mysterious,
full of promise,
full of sweet hellos –
with sweet blessings to me.
Looking at the twinkling stare.
while the moon shone brightly,
I think I saw the shadow of your smile –
reflected in the moonlight’s glow.
Harvest moon, with love,
you make me dreamy,
with memories of long ago yesterdays,
of when we’d wander
and dance among the stardust.
Harvest moon, so yellow,
in the dark night sky,
soon you’ll be but a memory –
as the days turn to autumn.
Then the falling leaves,
will mingle with tears,
as my aching heart –
longs for the love we once shared.
Harvest moon so glad,
you came with love,
to bring golden memories,
so dear to my heart –
that will never fade away.
Shining up so very high,
as much as I try,
there were so many happy times
and love that will never die.
Harvest moon, so glad you came with love,
so on and on I go,
through all the seasons,
each with a favorite song –
filling my heart with joy.
When I look back,
seems I have lost track,
we parted it seems like yesterday,
but you still fill my heart and soul
and the autumn wind whispers your name to me.
So I thank you, harvest moon,
for reminding me of the love,
for just one more glance,
one more chance to remember,
how in the garden we would dance,
one more moment –
to remember when love and you were mine.
