Halloween Poetry Contest – 2022

Halloween comes but once a year, but poetry lives on forever.

The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer. There’s a hint of a chill just hiding out waiting to burst forth into the night air. In just a few short weeks, summer will bid it’s final adieu and fall will dominate the world. Every day that passes is one day closer to Halloween, which is a favorite holiday for many people.

To celebrate the season, TCE is sponsoring a Halloween Poetry Contest, with a cash price of $100.00 to the winner. The rules are listed below. Good luck and happy haunting to everyone.

Creative Exiles has always been about writing and having fun. We’re as different a bunch as you’ve ever seen, but we’re also all connected by our love of writing. Some of us post all the time, others just the right time, for them. That’s the culture here. It’s a place to be creative, when you want to be and not be hassled when you’ve got other things going on. If you are a writer and what’s you’ve read so far has you interested, then reach out to us by e-mail CreativeExiles@outlook.com .

We are a self-governing group of writers and expect anyone who joins to follow and maintain the high standards we all try to live up to. We have many published authors who write here in their spare time.

I write about everything and sometimes nothing at all. I'm fascinated by old things, rusty things, abandoned places, or anywhere that a secret might be unearthed. I'm passionate about history and many of my pieces are anchored in one concept of time or another. I've always been a writer, dating back to my youth, but the last decade has been a time of growth for me. I'm continually pushing the limitations of vocabulary, syntax, and descriptive phrasing.
