Time Passes

Time passes by,

like golden sands,

through an hourglass,

each leaving behind something to treasure.

while we are left wondering why

we once seemed to have moments in hand –

only to see they have slipped away.

like a parade of colorful floats,

like balloons sailing away in a sky of blue –

it is here and gone in the blink of an eye.

Time passes by,

we grow older,

silver strands among the gold,

but as long as we keep loving –

time doesn’t make too many changes.

we can still go dancing,

enjoy the love we share,

and remember that time is still on our side.

Doesn’t it make you want to cry?

nothing to stop it –

we cannot catch it even if we try.

We know someday one of us will go on alone,

remembering the many yesterdays.

don’t even think why,

keep dreaming your dreams –

hold tight to my hand as we walk down life’s road.

Knowing that silently the years

are walking behind us.

leaving behind yesterday’s smiles,

warm embraces –

sparkling memories that will always shine.

Time passes by,

Isn’t it wonderful that you are still mine?

so much more to share –

knowing that we will keep loving till the end of our time.

To be caught up in the moment…knowing that “Time passes by”…and to not take it for granted. To still enjoy the fleeting moments that are full of good memories and to be fortunate enough to know that…at least for the moment…you have several more moments to come. It takes a unique person to understand this…and even more of unique heart to capture it in writing. Well Done! Enjoyed this one…very much.
