One More Day – A Poem Dedicated to Life
I need one more day to catch my breath,
Look at a familiar face,
Be unafraid of death,
And face my enemy with grace.
One last dance with life:
An unfaithful wife.
One more chance to look
For whatever she took.
Whatever is left is all mine:
A candle and a bottle of wine.
I always knew she would betray,
But all I wanted was one more day.

Abhimanyu, it is a real pleasure to read your work again. It has been a long time since we heard from you. Welcome back. I think about you often and hope all is well with you. Your poem is emotive and urges me to send blessings and hugs to you, Take care.
Thank you Phyllis, it is great to be back even though I have no clue when I will publish again. The good news is that everything is fine, and I hope you are fine as well. I send a virtual hug to you and thank you for your affection.
Beautiful poem Abhimanyu. Very memorable rhyme and balanced rhythm. Jamie
Thank you, Jamie.
Nice poetry. It sucks when the pen starts writing of tragedy. I feel though when mine does it comes up with some gems. I fine the raw emotion of sadness and despair have an intricate take in my writing. Nice rhyming, good work
