To Celebrate Resurrection

To Celebrate Resurrection
A.
We celebrate our own resurrection
from filthy apartments in dirty town
from stifling dead-end jobs till sundown
a narrow alley of persecution.
We gather together in large number
we feel our communities uproar rise
in dance and praise of finding paradise
and bath in light of our new found wonder.
Who wrote these songs everyone dances too?
What starving musicians gave it their heart?
What match made in Heaven did they create?
As Mustard Seed took sprout our hearts they knew
our understanding finally took part
in coming together to change our fate.
B.
All seek sunshine celebrating ‘The Lord’
every Sunday exit doors of Church
this treasure is not found to those who search
with faith we move into the unexplored.
The great and small will both sit at table
we all are humans and sing of our joy
such joy the Flames of Man cannot destroy
where everyone is considered able.
A chance to enjoy our humanity
through endless dancing and humble prayer
with laughing, loving, living our full lives.
To face all obstacles with dignity
to keep in mind people are in our care
until the end of time on Earth arrives.
C.
Where all the dressed up people will homestead
I would rather avoid the louder crowd
avoid the noisy clatter of the proud
and curl up early in a peaceful bed.
To try to help community in way
that seems to wonder off the beaten path
be honest with the facts of Nature’s wrath
and create safety for children to play.
So let me crawl upon this mighty rock
where everyday I go to clear my mind
to investigate faith and ponder hope.
After evaluation I take stock
behind this setting sun what will I find
just ocean to horizon as my scope.

Always seeking to improve ourselves, have faith in ourselves, and make a better life for ourselves and others is how we live life to the fullest. Great piece, Jamie. Well done.
Thank you Phyllis. Jamie
“Who wrote these songs that everyone dances too?” Yep…that’s what I want to know, too. Great work. Well crafted wording that takes a reader through a journey where we have to investigate faith and ponder hope. Written with true wordsmith qualities that only a Poet really knows how to bring. I will read this one again to get into the deeper aspects of it.
