Sculpture, Paint, or Poet’s Page

Sculpture, Paint, or Poet’s Page
I.
Open one eye to a creative blaze
to float with spirits outside with the trees
to weave some twilight through the tender leaves
so this will continue rummage in phrase.
When once I taught the Orbit of the Stars
let singing of knowledge ring through the world
the light of new ideas shiny and pearled
where books are fond acquaintances of ours.
This mysterious potency brings joy
the nature of my creativity
to walk among roaring Loom of Ages.
When truly story is about a boy
embraces natural proclivity
to sculpture, to paint, or fill poet’s pages.
II.
Rise as a student whose bathed in dismay
eternally to and fro as if birth
a constant struggle to determine worth
is this the act where boy makes deal in clay.
I preach, being known to preach around here,
upon the flood of this creative wave
that through these words someone will spot my cave
where smoke signals have been sent in fear.
What you don’t feel will not express in art
with clocks heart the soul will then understand
with new emotions let my readers see.
A boyhood weakness seems a place to start
the boy creates in dreams foggy yet grand
and sails imagination out to sea.
III.
The tragedy of a life dismantled
and joy of piecing it back together
the boy, now old, is currently father
whose art and children fondly entangled.
Let sharing of knowledge spread through world
“To see that for all the science and art
we truly know nothing it burns my heart”
the light of new ideas shiny and pearled.
A compelling argument for this heart
to save our culinary disaster
starting a fire from a pile of ashes.
What you don’t feel will not express in art
the joy of piecing art back together
to sculpture, paint, or fill poet’s pages.

Nicely phrased piece, Jamie. To see the boy grow up and put his creativity out there for all to enjoy. Well done.
Beautiful poetry, Jamie. I enjoyed reading it very much. Thank you so much for sharing.
These lines are so moving and profound: “What you don’t feel will not express in art…..to sculpture, paint, or fill poet’s pages.”
Art is a manifestation of emotion, and emotion speaks a language that all may understand. — W. Somerset Maugham
Keep up the awesomeness and have a fabulous week ahead.
