The Universe is…
The Universe is…
…With quick adjustments
My body in weightlessness,
I catch up with sound
Caressing substance
Air surrounds, like harnessed bliss
I caress the ground
A fleeting moment
To abide with inner thoughts
Understanding this;
God can’t condone it
reaching stars that can’t be caught
it would be remiss
If one wasn’t high
Immersing with the ether
How could one not try?
Tis splendor denied?
Eyes ill prepared to see her
the heaven’s reply.
Muscle-locked tension
Words mumbled, incoherence
spiking blood pressure
Sensations lengthened
In disheveled appearance
both as aggressors
in pleasure’s climax
her soul pressed to the dresser
her screams of treasure
consumed then relaxed,
learning to fly, wherever
the world endeavors

Great piece and excellent work Paul – there is more truth in what you wrote than just about anything you could read in a novel or two about the universe.
Thanks Kurt appreciate your kind words
Beautiful and profound. I enjoyed reading your wonderful poem, Paul. Thanks for sharing.
Stay Blessed!
Thank you so much Misbah. I am glad you enjoyed it
Excellent work, Paul, and a joy to read. Well done, dear poet.
Thank you Phyllis I’m glad you enjoyed it
That amazing image/gif drew me in and of course your poem did not disappoint. Excellent work, Paul.
I really loved the gif as well, I was hoping the poem did it justice. I’m glad you liked it John. Appreciate your kind words
I love what you were able to create with the syllabic count. Very strong powerful lines with incredible story telling. Well crafted. Jamie
Jamie thank you so much. I appreciate the kind words. I took it as a small challenge to myself to stick within the haiku-esque syllable count. I hope I did it justice.
Paul I am going to share this poem on the TCE Facebook page. If you wish me to remove it or not share in the future just let me know. I hope your family is well. Jamie
That is perfectly fine by me.
