JUST CAN’T SHAKE

JUST CAN'T SHAKE
JUST CAN’T SHAKE

Just Can’t Shake
Lot of times it is the hurt that you just can’t shake.
Sometimes, you just never know what is at stake,
A few tears now and then, just to let them out,
Life is confusing. You never know what it is all about.
Rain on an empty house, most times does not bother me,
Tonight, it makes me lonely, and I wonder where is she.
Is she, like me, lying in bed, sad, and wide awake?
Is the love we had and lost just as hard for her to shake?
The cars passing on the highway never used to bother me.
Now remind me of our road trips, when our love was free.
Why is love and loving someone forever so hard to do?
Just can’t shake it, and this is difficult for me to get through.
What hurts the most, being so close, being so much alike,
Knowing each other thoughts was very much dreamlike.
Does she miss our love, miss me, as much as I miss her?
Why fate can’t let us be, just leave us as we were?
Walking away is tough to do, leaving footprints in the dust,
Just can’t shake it, but to move forward, I guess, I must.
Sure, there will be days, pretending all is good and okay,
Deep in my heart, I will know it is a fib, a lie, on those days.
Throwing away those times that should of, could have been,
Never knowing how long it takes to heal, or even when.
Yes, loving and losing are as painful as it will ever be,
In my mind, I will always wonder where is she.
A few tears now and then, just to let them out,
Life is confusing. You never know what it is all about.
Sometimes, you just never know what is at stake,
Lot of times it is the hurt that you just can’t shake.

Isn’t that the way though, every little speck of anything ends you of her. Then anger settles at your tongue along with the waterworks. Why was it wrong, what could be done differently, so many questions flood your thoughts. It’s so painful. I felt all that while reading this. Nice work Kurt
