Experience of Time and Place

Experience of Time and Place
Experience of time and place,
folks’ interaction, face to face.
Accumulated emotions and fears,
delight in sparkling eyes, or tears.
Thrown into this see-saw world,
trusting, innocent, then truths unfurled.
Sheltered, loved, nurtured, such fun,
or dangers lurking, trust undone.
Smiling eyes absorb all features;
nature, colours, fellow creatures,
or eyes wide with fear and horror,
seeing war and death and squalor.
Our experience needs to count,
we see the world, we seek the fount
of knowledge to improve our lot,
nurture life, give all we’ve got
to make a difference, heart and soul,
a better future as our goal.
It’s up to us, do what you can!
Don’t be the one who looked – and ran!

Nice poem and fair warning. Jamie
Thank you, Jamie.
Awesome Poem of Experiencing the Time and Place. The “smiling eyes” see it all…the here and now and what may lie ahead. Great Poem. Enjoyed reading it!
Thank you for such kind words, Steve. I’m glad you enjoyed this.
I’m keen to bring attention to the importance of all of us trying to make our world a better place, using kindness, understanding and the means of educating our children to feel part of the wonders of this world and play our part in it.
Thanks for reading.

Ann, I loved this poem and its important message. The flow and rhythm was a pleasure to read, and is something I always enjoy in a poem.
Thank you very much, John, for reading and for the compliment. I’m glad the flow worked, as I wasn’t sure!

Ann a great message to go along with this excellent poem. Great rhyming and cadence throughout the entire piece. Nice work~Paul
Thank you, Paul, for your kind words; much appreciated.
I’m pleased about the ‘cadence’. It can be difficult to get right.
