Online Dating Blues
Online Dating Blues
A
So here is introduction
like writing these poems
moonlit nights on lone beaches
all of life’s struggles
Years built around family
sturdy foundation yet cracked
this opening has small space
for another life
Really one must live on faith
in random daily hello
maybe this will be the one
once I wash off bleach
Beaten by Mango till sour
unable to make contact
only those with power lust
only a short time
These are the faces outside
they blur as day progresses
lonely chores are completed
into the nighttime
Pray my daily prayer
Lord help me to reach farther
then this neighborhood of old
to try life again
B
Accept God’s gift of the present
instead of filling empty
vessels with tepid water
without sound reason
These are all of love’s battles
combined with metaphoric
an illusion created
manipulated
Nearby are potted flower
here patch work Azalea
loneliness disguised as Rose
a potter at wheel
Dream of the joy of a team
a partner in this life dance
cannot read motivation
simple working man
A need to find the inside
desire intimacy
try to find you through the ruins
become everything
A man at the door knocking
stands knowing there is someone
at peek hole considering
whether to answer
C
Will provide companionship
while struggling to stand-up
everyday against the wind
here is attention
Seconds after arrival
children’s energy explodes
matter begins out of place
feet already hurt
Meet someone as tired as me
between cleaning for hot tea
splits oneself among children
a torn loaf of bread
For you my hands are outstretched
heart open and releases
held only for a second
released into sky
A man stands under porch shade
once an inquisitive boy
now a tired laborer
waiting for water
Mature landscaping
shades these older neighborhoods
from the heat of Midday sun
Where once a clearing
