Thinking Out Loud

thinking out loud

My eyes sparkling at the mere thought of her

Standing still, whilst the world revolves around her

My lips unconsciously curling into a sweet smile

As she glides through each and every day

She must be magical or have a secret power

Her reality seems to run off the canvas

I know where and what those tiny drips do

Although unplanned, each touches a passing soul

I’ve seen the eyes of others simply light up

Just a spark and within moments a beautiful flame

This I’ve encountered many times before

And yet, I’m still in a state of perpetual awe

Her brushstrokes are erratic but never out of place

I watch as she walks a walk like no other walk

She steps lively, but throws caution to the wind

Others close in and try to repeat those steps

But for naught, for her steps are for no one else

She carries the weight of her secret journeys

I’ve chronicled some, but others remain a mystery

Those travels have made her fierce, but still soft

She wears the invisible armor of a warrior

And yet smells heavenly of gardenia and roses

Her words are like shouts of pure loving whispers

Touching lives with such amazing energy

Sometimes I expect she will simply ascend

I can almost see her walking across a cloud

That same beautiful smile radiating on her lips

The connection with all things apparent

And yet she remains as humble as humble might be

She seems to live to serve her fellow traveler

Wisdom of a thousand lifetimes at her fingertips

One only needs to listen and take it in

Learning and absorbing something of everything

And yet she doesn’t crave the spotlight or the limelight

Why should she, when her light is so much brighter

I can’t help but to be completely mesmerized

She is the answer when no question was asked

Pure perfection and yet she continues to grow

She is a seed, a mighty vine, and the spirit beyond

One maiden, one woman, and one wise matriarch

Thinking out loud…..that’s what I see

I write about everything and sometimes nothing at all. I'm fascinated by old things, rusty things, abandoned places, or anywhere that a secret might be unearthed. I'm passionate about history and many of my pieces are anchored in one concept of time or another. I've always been a writer, dating back to my youth, but the last decade has been a time of growth for me. I'm continually pushing the limitations of vocabulary, syntax, and descriptive phrasing.
