As We Go Drifting Through Life

As We Go Drifting Through Life …

Days drift on and on,

always something pushing them along.

There seems to be so much to ponder,

as you go drifting through life –

days exchanging one for the other.

Is it my imagination

or does every day –

Have something new to say?

The soul constantly searches,

for the peace, it seeks.

However in this modern world,

it more often finds –

chaos not, peace of mind.

At times the bright colors,

which turn this world around,

turn to shades of gray

and seem to blend with the darkness –

that bring storm clouds your way.

Where is the truth to be found?

The path as you go drifting through life,

just carries us along,

we do the best we can

and hope our hearts will find –

the contentment they seek.

Childhood was so easy,

it made life seem so simple.

Youth passes much too quickly,

but you hope to find –

the truth you seek.

Keep your goals always in sight,

remember who you are,

as you continue drifting through life,

if you focus on the colors –

they’ll return to this world of ours.

Leave behind shades of gray,

do not be afraid of what they say,

the truth you seek –

is in the heavens above.

Peace will come to you,

as you blend with nature,

delight in the starry night.

So never be afraid,

to go drifting through life,

with joyful dancing steps,

always look to make your colors –

shine so very bright.

Nicely penned inspirational verse, Rasma. When we have faith in ourselves then all is well within. Take care.

Thank you, Phyllis. Being on my own I have to have the strongest faith in myself and the Lord.
