Doing the Dance of Joy

As February comes to an end,

March will come like a lion,

roaring in.

It will find me spreading my arms,

and welcoming the mighty winds that blow,

trying to fly along with them,

doing the dance of joy –

as spring comes trumpeting in.

Beneath the gray skies,

as the spring rains come,

I’ll gladly welcome them,

for they’ll make everything,

so brand new.

Awaken nature

and flowers will grow,

then I’ll thrill with each new bud,

that bursts forth in a colorful riot –

doing the dance of joy.

Smiling at the sun above,

red tulips nod in the spring breezes.

Rivulets of water streams,

refreshing the awakening earth,

nothing could be better,

nothing could bring more happiness,

as more showers come from above,

bravely strutting forth dancing in the rain –

doing the dance of joy!

The simple things in life are free,

I take pleasure in nature,

the sun, the wind, and the rain –

doing the dance of joy.

Celebrating nature,

for these things are all wonderful,

they don’t cost a cent,

but are all meant –

in celebration of spring.

Seeing the ducks so happy,

the pond now free of ice and snow,

the grass so green and wildflowers begin to grow.

Along with the ducks, I waddle,

smiling at their pleasure –

we all do the dance of joy!
