The Last Hope in a Final Countdown

The imbalance of the natural order on earth is a well-worn subject, but as time goes by, a reality that could well end the greater populations of the earth. So the rumblings of soothsayers and scientist and even we few poets, in the end, will be somewhat revered, as people in blind dismissal of the truth, suffer the ramifications of inaction.
The Last Hope in a Final Countdown
Centuries pass so decidedly,
hallowed by squandered hope and misery,
in bloody earth where no symmetry abounds,
as the world in hurt alerted
to the careless taking, the swallowed rearranging
of a deeply ordered vow of being, resounds,
disregarded in seeing not the stream endowed,
instead of a shallow pride of place,
an arrogant space where destruction marks
the seeds of possibility
with soulless bleak irresponsibility.
The skies weep in turbulent response,
flood, drought, fire and more,
in desperate pursuit of balance,
a flagrant disrespect the silent malignancy
of a paradise of perpetuity
held to ransom by thoughtless, gormless souls
too self-invested to witness the whole,
and who within blind observations
await that cold hand of restoration,
at the expense of human life,
chaos and strife.
Realisations are slow and painful,
and so the lessons now have begun, ravage
what human minds have won in their delusions,
their constitutions so complex
they cannot agree on anything,
so lost within their motives, self-preservation
and the sewing of their fields,
they cannot wield enough to even hinder
what’s to come, the balance of this world
so dismissed and stated
for our own purposes.
Nature sits in quiet repose,
ambivalent, no blame or supposition,
just a response to our poor decisions
to restore in any way
the imbalance of the flow,
the natural order as is meant to be
without the meddling of selfish need
and opportunism, the human trait
that could end us all,
as time counts down and we astounded,
try to absorb our flaws.

There are those who will never wake up in time to be of any help to the natural order of all life. For those of us who care and look at what the reality is, may we continually reach out with strong voices and spiritual help – and great inspirational work like yours is of great importance, Tony. Well done. Take care.
Much appreciated, Phyllis, I guess the more of reminding the better a possible outcome. Cheers!
“Realisations ARE slow and painful”….Too slow and too painful I fear. Great read thank you Tony. Jamie
