Somewhere
Somewhere I lost the words –
to tell you how I feel.
Somewhere they drifted away,
on the wind blowing by.
Along the way,
I lost my heart
and now there is only silence –
stretching into eternity.
The clock still ticks,
but my heartbeats,
no longer count the hours,
I live through the days,
longing for the release of night,
when I can see you in my dreams,
there with me,
like once so long ago.
Somewhere through the night clouds,
come loving words,
I hear them, I know them,
your face before me,
as I keep drifting in my dreams.
Silence seems like a cloak,
wrapped around my shoulders,
I just can’t seem to shake it,
it just won’t let me be.
When the morning comes,
the words have flown away,
scattered somewhere,
along with the night breezes.
All I can ever be is me,
longing to find the loving words,
that like magic,
seemed to vanish,
so long ago.
If only I could find the words
and with them my heart,
then I could tell you what I truly feel
and present my heart to you,
just the way it should be.
Once I can find the words again,
once the love seems real,
I’ll be able to steal your heart away,
but you, you must promise to stay.
As you are my one and only love
and if you accept the love I offer you,
we can be happy evermore,
you and I together,
never to part
and among the stars,
in eternity.

Thank you, Yasmin.
An incredible way to start my Sunday! A fresh cup of coffee and your poetry. Thank you Rasma. Jamie
Such heartfelt words. So painful when we become lost in love or for that fact without love, that it engulfs our entire being. It seems so hopeless, so helpless, but when you do find those words its is simply put, “Magic.” Lovely verse Rasma.
Thank you, Paul.
You’re welcome, Jamie. Glad you enjoy it.
