Hold Onto Your Happy Thoughts

Happy Thoughts
Whether feeling some happiness when
I do my chores in a state of zen,
listen to music loud,
finding place in the crowd,
trying not to remember again.
To discuss the power of smiling,
that just a smile can change a feeling
from feeling a bit sad
to trying to feel glad,
to showing your teeth to the ceiling.
Stay focused on your happiest thoughts,
hold onto these memory snapshots,
to help you through hard days
an answer to life’s maze,
saving the last ripened apricots.
To fill every moment with laughter
to feel the effects linger after,
a laugh from the belly,
at a joke that’s smelly,
a loud hoot thats heard from the rafter.
Think of the weather, think of the stars,
think of the rover roaming on Mars,
push out the negative
bring on the positive,
like Vitamin E oil rubbed on scars.
You will never worry about things,
if your life is filled with gentle hugs,
to embrace like a bear,
to squeeze without a care,
always brings smiles to our sour mugs.
A step up from hugs and kisses
a kiss on the cheek from the Missus,
oh what a joy that brings,
my spirit always sings,
hugs that create favorite mixes.
To each happy thought I will respond,
as this story goes on and goes on,
I am grateful each day
to find a way to play
before the moment comes and is gone.

Yes! Live in the moment, each moment of positive thoughts, smiles, laughter and hugs. Such a wonderful poem, Jamie, and so well written. I love it !
Thank you Phyllis. Here’s to many Happy Thoughts today!
Absolutely Jamie. Hold dear to this happy memories because there are some in the outside that hope to destroy them. I cherish my own memories, especially the ones filled with smiles. Great work
Nicely penned Jamie. Memories of things that were, especially pleasant and happy memories keep us alive in pursuit of more.
Your wonderful poetry and happy, positive thoughts made me smile. When I get really down I have found there is just no other way – I still head outdoors and blow bubbles into the wind.
Thank you Paul, Kurt, and Rasma for stopping by to read and leave a comment. I am appreciative. Jamie
