Another Winter Down
In the winter lull
The naked trees find freedom
Into the darkness
Where we all succumb
To the season of reasons
We find joy in pain
In the endless void,
As if joy calls upon pain
With balance restored
We mend always
Three hundred and sixty five
The remaining days
Shedding winter skin
Perspiring with a purpose
do it all again
Compliments earnest
Purpose; a means to an end
Justification
To fatten gullets
The lucid motivation
Hard all year we work
With guts now sated
This winter lull, in silence
My friend we made it.

Nice work on the Haiku, Paul. I like this. Well done with the 5-7-5 syllables format.
I could not find the image on Pixabay and it looks like it might have a copyright on it due to the markings. Please check and verify the image is free to use. Thank you.
Thanks Phyllis. Haiku poetry is kind of fun. I changed images and used pixabay. Sorry about that
