Can’t Pin Down Time
Time flies,
it rushes on by,
before you even begin to sigh,
today has become yesterday
and tomorrow is now today –
just can’t pin down time.
You were just born
and now you’ve grown,
days of youth were fleeting,
childhood but a memory,
who knows what the future will bring –
time marches on.
No one can tie it down,
no matter what we do,
no matter what each day brings,
there never seems to be,
time for all that we want to do.
The hours and the minutes,
seem to chase each other,
round the face of the clock,
it seems as if,
someone should find,
a chain to lock up time,
but the ticking of the clock,
never seems to stop.
When the room is quiet,
the ticks sound so loud,
in the silence of a quiet room.
Time flies and we can’t keep up,
like birds on the wing,
here today, gone tomorrow,
just as we are but a moment in time to be
and our journeys someday will end.
We just have to accept,
this as part of life,
as soon as one day has gone,
another one begins,
the sun rises and it sets,
the world keeps spinning,
there must be no regret –
no pause, no chance to reflect.
Time marches to its own tune
and we bravely dance along,
make it all a reality,
not some farce or charade,
just never let it rain –
on your parade!
