New Owner Required: Inquire Within

Step up, step up, do I hear a bid?

A new owner is required.

Good value at twice it’s valued price,

Before hosting expires.

The Creative exiles has a name

For quality and style,

So raise your hand and make a bid,

It will make the members smile.

Ralph has pressing matters

That he must give his time.

My only claim to expertise

Is how to make words rhyme.

So, someone with tech-savvy

Is needed for the task.

I promise that you’ll get our help,

You need nor even ask.

Phyllis our editor in chief,

At that, she sure excels,

While Tony keeps the site afloat,

By his output, you can tell.

So, all we need is an owner,

A new host for the site,

With a vision for the future

To reach even greater heights.

John Hansen

Longtime poet but not in the traditional technical sense. I enjoy rhyme but like to experiment and dabble in many different forms and maybe even make up some of my own. There is always a message or lesson I want to promote through my writing, for that reason, my poetry generally shies away from the abstract and obscure. Now I find myself branching out and experimenting with short fiction, and thoroughly enjoying this, especially flash fiction. I have been fortunate to have two poems made into songs and recorded. The first "On the Road to Kingdom Come" by Al Wordlaw, and the second, "If I Could Write a Love Poem" by award-winning Israeli/British singer Tally Koren. My services increasingly in demand as a freelance writer and I have ghost-written the text for a number of children's books and educational tutorials. It has taken me many years of searching and restlessness to realise that my life's passion is to write. It saddens me that I wasted so many years not devoting to that, but thinking positively, the experiences gained over those years are now wonderful material for my stories and poems. I want to try to bring a new focus on poetry and try to make it appealing to a new generation of young people and those who thought they never liked or understood it before.

      Hi Kurt,
I have sent you an email, as requested. Thanks for the inquiry my friend.

Sorry to read about Ralph moving on, I hope that TCE can find a new tech who can move this site forward, it’s due. So many great writers have joined, yet been way to dormant for various reasons I won’t get into here. However, it’s never to late to find the talent it needs to revive and stimulate the creative minds of many a talent registered here. Hopefully as you request, that person(s) steps forward to pick up the mantle where Ralph left off and has that vision required to motivate and electrify those creative writers and poets. Good luck, I’m not a tech in any way, other than the basics. Like you John I’m a shape shiftier of words, not at all savvy with technology. Good luck!!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Vincent. I am proud of this site and the professionalism and dedication shown in getting it off the ground and to where it is today. Yes, you are right it does need some way of encouraging all the inactive members to become more involved, as well as attract new ones. Hopefully, we can find a new site manager who has ideas to do that.
We could find ourselves moving in an exciting new direction.

John, I thought I am the site manager. I do a lot of promotions and recruiting endeavors. I also am on the site every day monitoring all posts and comments as well as Chief Editor, and Newsletter Editor. Inactive members are just not responding, not interested in posting. Are you thinking of replacing me as site manager? If so, let me know asap.

I have a new laptop to be delivered in a few days – been having issues with my current one, so have not been online in a few days.

No, not at all Phyllis. You misread that…I meant whoever takes over the site from Ralph. Kurt isn’t interested in taking over ownership, just hosting and managing (as opposed to the title owner). You will still retain all your current positions/duties….titles are just a badge. Kurt asked if we would still do the same things we currently are. you do a great job, and I wouldn’t change that.

I’ve changed my mind and I won’t be selling TCE afterall – I was a bit overwhelmed with my daughter getting married soon, my job, and a bunch of other distractions that limited my time. After reading and hearing everyone’s concerns, I’m currently working on some things behind the scenes to keep things going at a reasonable cost. I apologize for the angst many of you might be feeling, but I’m only human.

I’m leaving the country until the middle of December right after Thanksgiving – when I’m back I’ll share more information on the future plans of the site.

I am very pleased to know you changed your mind, Ralph. I so understand what being overwhelmed with so many things coming down at once. You have my support and dedication for the future of TCE. Thank you for letting us know this good news. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your loved ones and a safe trip. I look forward to your future plans. Take care.

Thank you Ralph for persevering with us. Glad to see you stay. Very witty piece John. Onward and upward we shall continue this adventure, hopefully challenging each other at the same time. Nice work, great rhymes as always.
