Dark Horse
Dark Horse
I gave it all up
there is little that you can understand
Nor for instance do I
but dark horse I remain
And yet I knew it well from a young age
dark horse that I would be
uncomfortable as that could ever show
now however not so much
And it’s all okay you cannot feel bad for the dark horse
they look not for sympathy
but to go alone in the dark of night
because dark and dark go so well together
Now we ride alone across the prairies of the dusk
and dance where no one watches
we sing silent into the heavens
where dark voices run forever free
And if you see me there alone on the astral plains
seek not my mate
for dark horses were never meant to be paired
such is the dark horses fate
No more a solitude of loneliness no realm
and no kingdom required
Perhaps born simply a soul alone
a soul but old and tired

Interesting and entertaining read Ed. Very much enjoyed.
A dark horse has a lonely path. It is a path of knowing the self and growing spiritually. This is a great piece to prompt one to think deeply of their own path. Well done, Ed. Take care dear friend.
Ed, I love the title and this was a poem that causes one to reflect on loneliness and life in general. Good work. I sometimes consider myself a “dark horse’, or is that a “black sheep?” Not sure.
