Watching and Learning From Human Mistakes

Watching and Learning from Human Mistakes
Watching and Learning from Human Mistakes

Veiled minds
wander aimlessly on earthy ground,
without a purpose, beyond the self,
and never shall they discover their folly,
their resistance to growth and learning,
for their focus is not to better themselves,
but to better their circumstance,
any way they can,
to uplift the inadequacies felt,
the appearances of ego’s shine,
even at the expense of others.

Opportunists and manipulators they are,
always seeking purchase in situations,
to unhinge those who seem a threat
to their delusions of self,
and I watch their minds conceive plays
that would make anyone cringe,
but for they just a righteous act
of self-preservation,
and empathy isn’t one of their traits,
just a collateral damage,
of their chosen fate.

We are all on our paths of learning,
we make mistakes,
hopefully learn and move on,
yet some people seem never to learn
and repeat the course of their predilections,
as if driven to hurt, to cause pain
in their quest to gain power,
control in a world that appears oppressive
and they the victim of inequity,
a reason for their vengeful minds
and justified actions.

The truth is so buried within them,
at first in hiding and eventually not recognised,
they live in a construct of carefully prepared lies
that support their cause, the dark truths
of their ineptitude and self-preservation,
and I wonder often, if they discovered their ill,
would that change them, or simply require
another levels of self-delusion,
to keep their unbearable truth well hidden,
regardless, I keep my distance,
for they are more dangerous that even they know.

I give thanks daily for clarity
and honesty in my life,
for what delusion of reality could I accept otherwise,
and in my need for transparency,
I never shall take for granted
the blessings afforded my life,
as love is the only importance in the end,
and control is a passive acceptance,
not some wild horse to be tamed,
so I am the eternal observer,
and watch and learn from human mistakes.

I try to understand why some live a life like that, yet I just cannot seem to grasp why. Of what worth is it to them, certainly no worth to others who live in love and kindness such as yourself, Tony. To continually learn and grow ever more spiritual is your path, as well as mine. I am drawn to like-minded souls and avoid those who are, by choice, negative and stagnate. Great work as always, Tony. Take care.

Thanks Phyllis, glad you relate, of course. I can’t understand people either. We all have our own paths to follow. Nice to be able to share though. Cheers!
