Until the Day Renews

Until the Day Renews
Until the Day Renews

The forest yearns,
each tear the straddled creeks
meandering between the ferns and palms,
and weeping vines clinging tight
to trunk and bow, discerning plights
in search of light, avowed,
as light in shards so fine
like arrows from canopy to ground,
dot the the fallen barks
and crusted death surrounds,
while shoots alight
from moistened ground beneath.

The scent so fresh, so alive and clean,
where death and growth
hand in hand it seems,
walk the paths of vibrant life,
and light imbues each aspect
as shoots do lean toward those shards,
speckled floors and leaves rain kissed
caressed by Mother’s love,
yearning to be chosen,
to be blessed by heaven’s canopy above,
and morning rains
now steamy mists avail.

Diamond leaves, broad and strong,
let orbs be free as heat abounds,
and growth in slow-motion
transforms that yearning
for the struggle of reaching arms,
striving with every force of will,
to seek that light and sustenance,
suck the very marrow
from the bones of providence,
and fill that floor with vivid greens
and plush life smiles of beauty scenes,
the rapture of the forest.

And as day moves forward
and sun finds peak,
the warmth of nurture with love does greet,
and that yearning is fulfilled for now,
cycles moving, life profound,
as day begins its slow shadowy decline,
to rest the struggle of essence divine,
each living thing a thankful sigh,
as darkness claims the forest,
the sky a fading blue,
as sun dips its toes in far horizon,
and quietness finds the shadow’s sleep,
rest until the day renews.

Your skillful word craft transports me to the beauty and peace of the rain forest where life is so abundant. Such a wonderful spiritual experience it is. Lovely verse, lovingly penned. Great work, Tony. Take care. Kindred spirits, yes.
