The Entrapment of Truth

Truth cannot dispel the ruse of belief,
when minds so immovable cannot reap
outside those parameters,
held so deeply with conviction,
despite their flaws and the infliction of lies
that compromise an astute mind.
Belief once accepted is like a stone wall,
each brick attributing and increasing its strength
until that wall is unbreakable,
and no matter the consideration,
truth or lie in evaluation,
it cannot break a cold hard conviction.
Truth in essence is a perspective of belief
that can change as we evolve,
thus truth as we see it is in flux,
and seeing it as immovable, definitive,
is the closing of the mind,
held in atrophy and within limitations.
We may surmise, sympathise with a truth,
but always being open to further proof,
as belief without proof becomes faith,
a blind truth without substance,
and so it is better to be open minded,
as truth is rarely definitive in any sense.
We may believe this and that,
and as time offers further revelations
we adjust our understanding,
so stating a definitive belief is rather empty of substance,
when we know full well that may change,
be later rearranged in our thinking.
Becoming an observer of life is a unique perspective,
always open to new information, to new realizations
that transcend our current reflections of truth,
whatever they may be,
and to fathom the elusive nature of what truth is,
when we observe it unencumbered.
With the bias of personal wants,
truth become less of a static element of life
and more a constantly transitioning aspect
of the growing understanding and thought process
we adapt to our evolving circumstances,
and so nothing is certain, nothing predictable.
Truth is just another entrapment,
like right and wrong.

To observe life with an open mind reveals truths and understanding. Nicely penned and well done, Tony. Take care dear friend.
Glad you appreciated the work Phyllis, tale care.
