Stumble, Crumble, Ride, Cry, Abide

Stumble, Crumble, Ride, Cry, Abide
Stumble, Crumble, Ride, Cry, Abide

I ask why and stumble,
I ask why me and crumble,
I contend and let anger ride,
or I accept and cry til the tears dry out,
and eventually I abide.

In the swill of human ineptitude
we wallow, fight, give up
and swallow our pride,
as we eventually decide to accept
the limitations of our plight.

We may look in the mirror
and despise, tell ourselves lies,
to counter the distasteful truths,
the ruses we perpetuate
to give us a modicum of comfort.

But in the end, we are what we are,
we may fall or go far,
potential with the weight of imperfection
challenges all direction,
but the choice is always ours.

We may amass wealth, position and power,
but what good in our final hour of life,
if love is bereft, if our hearts
are left wanting from lack of use,
and as darkness descends, regret lingers.

The erratic paths of our lives attest
the purpose of our learning,
discerning what is right,
and mistakes we will not make again,
if we admit our wrongs and sins.

How far we may come is ours to determine,
our vision the residue
of failures and lessons we learn,
and in time the mirror sheds something else,
a shadow once in light reveals.

We will still stumble, still fall,
the scars attest the gravity,
but its how we perceive that transforms,
how we respond that forms
the foundation of growth that follows us.

I ask why and stumble,
I ask why me and crumble,
I contend and let anger ride,
or I accept and cry til the tears dry out,
and eventually I abide.

Open your heart to love, let the wrongs and past go, look towards potential and possibilities. Maybe what you thought is not what you are looking for is exactly what you need. Take care and many blessings to you dear poet.

Any expose of the human conditioning, as most people will relate. Thankfully, I seek little these days, and have found peace in my soul. These works are reflections of human experience and no more, hoping that people relate and find a better path in understanding. Cheers!

Tony you lay bare the naked truth of most of mankind. We stumble in our imperfections. No matter the accumulation of stuff, it turns to dust as does our sordid flesh. Finding peace with one’s soul is paramount in this life, many will never achieve it. I struggle with my own imperfections as do you I’m certain. But we keep a positive outlook on life, hoping for changes that will be good for all of us on this sordid earth. Your exposure of human conditioning is in sync with my own thoughts sir. I too have found peace in my soul, yet I do fight my own demons, I keep them at bay, they smile back at me, knowing I will not be defeated. A better path in understanding is a good start, but much will fall on deft ears my friend. Peace and blessings I send to you this day.

Thank you my friend. You’re right, much of this will not be understood. But those ready to understand will hopefully change and better their lives. Appreciate your kind words Vincent. take care my friend.
