Looking Into Eternity

Looking Into Eternity
Looking Into Eternity

Inquiring minds look into vast infinite space
and wonder, what lay beyond sight,
the very limitations of perception,
and in that what life abounds,
far from the expectations
of a human consciousness.

Dark is the void between
light and eternal possibility,
lives in sink with time’s lauding purveyance,
and written on yet another page of being,
unseen and unknown to the likes of us,
we, in the embrace of one small planet.

What ploys and politics abound, far from us,
what wars and peace, and souls released
to new ideas so far removed
I care not predict the shift,
the possibilities I construe to view as if a dream
the extremes of eternal fate.

How I long for knowledge,
yearn for more than I know on earth,
so much to bear this infinite fair of diversity,
marked as life in myriad form, so precious all,
so disconnected by time and distance,
I wish to overcome.

I can feel their longing too,
the same wishes in thoughts released,
to know me as I wish to know them,
who stare into a room of infinity
no walls other than the limits of knowing,
showing us more and more.

One inkling would satisfy my soul,
one hand outstretched for me to know
my hopes are not in vain,
as I seek not solitude in my mood, but connection,
a reflection of life no matter where or how,
just to know we are not alone.

Somber is the night,
when glittering worlds invite my consideration,
as I scan the purple eternity, in awe,
of all that is beyond my visions of life,
so removed yet yearning to be known,
homes I have perhaps been shown
in my dreams.

I believe there is so much out there beyond that we would love to know. To be able to connect would truly be a wonderful happening. Great work, Tony, and a pleasure to read. Take care.

All in good time my friend, the vale will be ripped open for our longing eyes to see. Until that day, we will continue to see proof of extraterrestrial life in our lives on earth. The longing to see and speak to others from a different world than ours is a constant reminder of how close we are to doing just that. Whether in mine or your lifetime my friend is the question. But I feel assured and a sense of peace that when we shed this earthly shell, our spirits will meet our atomic ancestors. Nicely penned and indeed a pleasure to read.
