No-One is Above Reality

What recourse do we have,
when the avalanche befallen us,
we, it seems, did create,
and what blame we can unleash,
incrimination of relentless grief,
just to sublimate our guilt,
our displaced yielding to an ego
pleading innocence.
Like towers of sacred birthright,
spires of majestic right,
that somehow ratifies our invincibility,
our lack of responsibility
just a play of natural filtration,
to those of lesser worth,
while we enjoy the delusions
of another souls fate in acceptance.
Such is human heritage and plight,
classes averting responsibility within law
and the futility of morals
bestowed upon the masses,
but fallen short of higher caste,
as they cannot see the fallen,
just know its not they
that walk the line.
Equality is never taken for granted,
for there is none,
always those above the law, above reproach,
not for their characters of purity,
but by their status alone, their impunity
long understood in society’s run,
and so the letter of the law is a duality,
no rule for one, just a line drawn when needed.
These souls, take no responsibility,
blame and redirection their skill,
and in perpetuity of their state,
they enlist others like themselves
to create their paths of escape,
when laws cross their will,
when society questions their place,
they simply evaporate.
For mere mortals,
we, in our understanding, take responsibility
for our thoughts and actions,
for what results is of our own making,
and blameless is anyone else,
when the buck stops here,
and no escapes are possible in reality’s fold,
as we in our lesser selves are learning.

Those who believe they are above reality will never learn, for they cannot own up to their mistakes and the damage they cause. When the Blue Star Katsina dances, those of good heart and a willingness to rebuild a better world of love and brotherhood will live on. Great piece, Tony. Take care.
Glad you appreciated it Phyllis, take care dear poet.
