Every Card A Dangerous Turn
Hearts and Diamonds
Clubs and Spades
Razor blades and hand grenades
Every card a dangerous turn
Every deal a lesson learned
Cards are dealt and cards are played
Some will fold, some will stay
A game they say, or is it more
Never knowing what’s in store
One by one across the table
Place your bets; if you’re able
Watch their eyes and facial features
Test them on their bluff procedures
No points or line; no teams are named
The house rules have been explained
Ante up and take your chances
Without a care of your finances
Liars poker, add the joker
Hoping for a hand of clover
Diamond flush is such a rush
A hand of kings will make you blush
Several pair when held together
Feeling light, just like a feather
Random cards, but all are mixed
Time to fold or be eclipsed
Texas Hold‘em and Crazy Four
Hoping for that mighty score
Random draw of Casino War
Out of funds, then out the door
Winning streaks and easy money
Single guys might find a honey
Rooms are comped and food is free
All without a guarantee
The Winner’s Circle big attraction
Momentary feeling of satisfaction
Count your dollars and your tokens
The streak you’re on will soon be broken
Cash ‘em in and take it home
Hit the stores, enjoy a show
A gamblers life of risk and reward
Some are hated, some adored
A few are rich, but most are scraping
Victims of their own decision making
Bluff or hold, or take a card
Going down and going hard
A King, a Queen, a Jack and junk
Another drink; don’t get drunk
It’s your choice to raise or check
Or drop your cards down on the deck
Another hand, another fold
Playing cards is getting old
You could be snoozing
But instead you’re losing
A bit by bit and then that’s it
The House has taken every penny
You and me and more and many
Remember as you feel the burn
You were warned about the turns

Always, the next card might bring on the win – so they keep playing and losing. I worked in a xxxxxx and saw the same people every day as they spent all their money because the next hand just might make them rich. Winning big is rare. Great work, Ralph – I love it !
I like to play cards my friend and never had an issue with being able to walk away – others I know have not been so lucky – I loved this Ralph and great job.
