A Revelation Still Not Completely Held

No thought required, the earth breathes,
it simply is, and remains in a complex network
of ever-decreasing, ever-increasing manifestations of life,
attuned innately to all who abide its domain,
as it moves within the balances it must create, to survive.
Profoundly connected to each living thing,
it both feeds and suckles within
a process of symbiosis that defines our roles
in this earthly life, our need to be connected,
deeply respected in place and purpose.
The earth cannot be taken for granted,
its role in our lives fundamentally aligned
to see our prospering, our thriving within
the ebb and flow of the natural world,
its very purpose of nurture.
In disruption, the imbalances created
require absolution, and in that,
often the consequences of extreme action,
climatic changes, geological changes,
drought, famine and disease to cull over populations.
The consequences of overworking land,
pollution of land, air, sea and exhausting resources
all have consequence, and the more humanity persists
without considering the natural balance,
the worse these consequences will become.
Although we may not understand,
the earth is a living, thinking entity
innately powerful in its ability to affect change,
to restore balance and equity into life,
when circumstances threaten.
If only we could all learn to acknowledge
these realities and our fundamental connection,
we would not be so dismissive and selfish
in our disrespect of the natural world,
of which we a part.
The earth is like a tree, and we each suckled by a single root,
are apart of the whole, its very health and future:
if only humanity would know this truth
and make the connection that is so important for health
and our own prosperity in life.

Our Earth is our home, our sustenance, our very life. If we do not take care of her and reverse damage done, we will not survive. Your message is full of words of wisdom, Tony, and so inspirational. Wonderful work, dear poet. Take care.
Much appreciated Phyllis. take care.
