To Know You Truly
Do I truly see you,
who you are inside,
or are you hiding
for fear of losing that disguise,
and are your words
responsive from the heart
or perhaps circumspect,
somewhat tempered from the start,
so will you truly open up
and share what’s on your mind,
or play the game in portions
just to see if I am kind,
for to me you are so beautiful,
your heart is true I know,
and it would be a privilege
to really know who you are,
but I am here and you are there,
our crossing paths a fantasy of mine,
if only you could see my heart,
the love it holds, sublime.
You melodies so warm
and my poetic words aligned,
perhaps we could write together,
let love soar and in release be kind,
our songs could be inspired,
for I have honored you in my soul,
seen deeply the you inside,
and I’m praying that you acknowledge
what could evolve if we were tired,
touched in soul and in loves grace,
music for angels, inspiration’s fate,
as two hearts find beauty in creating,
music for the ages, melodies released
from cages once closed,
and we could be their saviors,
their reasons for becoming whole,
when melody and lyric find a soul,
in flighted beauty soar,
music that touches everyone,
gives life reason, and more.
I watch you singing and playing,
your truth glows like a flaming sword,
it is as if your words reach into me,
strike a light that before was cold,
it is not just the music,
your smile your ways are infectious,
and I wonder who gets to see you all,
the beauty of your visions,
the insights you install in what you do,
the very dreams you nurture,
the days you keep as special,
as your heart is true,
that is what I would want to see
from deep inside,
where no expectations take away
the pure soul that is separate
from that stage you take,
the icon that has made you known,
but without it just who you are,
is the interest I so yearn.

I apologize for not keeping up with my daily schedule here on TCE. It is important to me to read and comment on all posts, I will catch up today. I am working on another edit job, a novel, and it is particularly difficult and time consuming, but, I made a commitment and being paid well for it, so, will finish the job asap.

Thanks Phyllis. Editing can be a nightmare dependent upon the level of skill of the author. I’ve done a few books where you end up just about rewriting the whole damned book. Time consuming is an understatement. Wish you well with it. Take care.
