It doesn’t matter how we choose to be,
we are just a reflection of the world around us,
our response the heart of who we are,
and regardless of how some may judge us,
if we are honest with ourselves,
then we are being exactly who we should be.
Flamboyant, reserved, outspoken, quietly versed,
often words of wisdom do not grace fools,
and so silence is a powerful element,
as is listening to learn,
that people are far less aware of themselves
as one would think.
Being true to ourselves is an unwritten agreement,
a sense of identity worth upholding,
and no matter how others try to draw us out,
make us feel vulnerable, we remain who we are,
for there is no hiding, no illusions,
just an immovable truth.
The games of others are puerile,
just a reflection of their own insecurities,
and jealousy often motivates them
to try to pull us down,
the fact that they can’t just infuriated them,
to malicious plays of will.
In the sanctum of our minds
we choose how we respond and feel emotionally,
and how that is perceived is often superfluous,
for some perspectives are strewn with ambiguity and bias,
and we are the pursuant force of being,
to their own frustrations of ineptitude.
What matters is that we choose how to be,
no pretense or fearful retraction,
just the honesty of a considered mind,
preserving our true nature and supporting reality,
not delusions of grandeur or wanted states unattainable,
but truth as best we can afford it.
The comfort of our chosen persona
and physical state, is important,
as long as it is not deluded by ulterior motives,
and we in acceptance of ourselves
use our minds in open perspective,
to attain a path of productive and kind intentions.
