The Spirit is Strong
And in spirit I rise above the intended,
not cast out, not chosen or relented,
for the souls cannot abide by
an unsound environment,
when flight is all it needs,
and so earthly connection
cannot supersede its rightful place,
high above the weighted ruse
and harm of a life in atrophy.
No intention, just a spirit
that belongs in finer abode,
not laden by the code of humanity,
the lost causes of arrogant predilection,
but free in the ether of cognition,
assimilation not possible,
observance the only link to understanding,
but in spirit quite apart,
thoughts remiss in human hearts.
Never understood,
the shell just like reflection,
but beneath an objection to it all,
as failure greets failure in love and war,
and future stained by human greed and more,
pathways to burning flesh and futility,
acidity the spite of judgement’s call,
and I just watch, weep for what could be,
if potential was in any way realized.
So the spirit is strong,
eternal hopes outliving the human throng,
and never shall potential be quashed,
when souls unite to engender love
and such high ideals,
to sustain a future we may not have,
but in spirit we live in promise,
live within the hearts giving,
for a living slender in life’s perpetuity.
I surrender wholly,
the spirit is strong and the flesh weak,
and meek the wants of flesh,
just the freedom to fly in spirits behest,
to know the righteous flow of life,
even though so few abide,
I will coincide in never-ending hope,
that others will see truth’s banner,
and life will return to equilibrium.
