It’s All in the Detail

Its the hues, the nuances that bloom,
like a summer morning in a field,
petals blessed and open to the sun,
as we dismiss the known
and in recognition pass over all it is,
when beauty in its many shades
elates a thirsty soul,
inspired to imbibe all there is
and more as yet unknown.
Perception is our measure,
and to its depth we endeavor to glean
what’s of worth between life and dream,
the very essence beyond what seems,
the core of each and every thing
our epiphany of sight,
when we see further into life’s eyes,
deeper still derive a sense of plight,
understand the light of our beginning.
Beyond the expected is far more
than what by glance we may see,
and in that the detail of a soliloquy,
a deeper explanation, a delivering compensation
for our dreams, alive and well
to stream the possibilities in life,
and with open eyes we fly,
far beyond the turmoil,
the surface of a life more alive, than before.
Never take for granted the truth,
the rabbit warren far deeper to recoup
what’s been lost in travail,
the pressures and the veils,
held in protection of our plight,
yet a single dimension rife with duplicity,
but further there is light,
where intention is far brighter
and we may see the fight to restore.
Life is all in the detail,
if we care to see, to listen and be
within the arms of love,
seeking the beauty, the reassuring of worth
as we follow paths to find those dreams,
wade through the shallow streams
to find the source,
find the meaning we’ve so sought,
to discover we have had it all along.

There is a knowing in my heart and soul that life was meant to be ‘in the arms of love’ – love for all living things, nature, life itself. The longer I live, the more I live in love. This is a pleasure to read, Tony, so enjoyable and so loving. Take care, dear poet.
Thanks Phyllis, and that is our potential, to be able to love freely, all living things, life itself and ourselves in clarity. We cannot be any more than that. Cheers!
