Freeing the Mind
How promptly limitations speak their mind,
remind us of their weighted reality check,
but they lie, and their hard hitting compliance
is a trick of the light,
so ingrained in our human acceptance,
how can we fly?
It takes so long to reacquire a lost mind,
a mind brainwashed to believe
the limits given in human grounding,
conformity to believe our inability to be free;
but lies just propagate lies,
yet it does not make it any more true.
Fed the limits of bland minds,
we tread the earth in kind, lost to reality,
forging paths in hope of learning,
yet our powers of discerning, left wanting,
as we traverse a world ruled by our own minds,
and captivity has become our solace.
For one moment believe there is more,
for a single epiphany can divide reality from captivity,
and in its vision we wonder why
for so long we have been so blind,
ignoring possibilities to adhere
to lies, dignified by ignorance.
Life is freedom,
opportunity to move beyond the base physical reality,
into realms befitting our growth,
realms that do not limit our abilities,
do not corrupt our creativity,
our essential essence to grow.
The key exists within reach,
belief is all we need to extend our scope,
our hopes for more meaningful existence,
our persistent inquiry into impossibility,
to be overcome in the one thing that holds us apart,
our own mind.
It will take practice, commitment,
to overcome the limitations of our world,
taught to us as reality, but in fact a travesty,
and the more we think outside that box,
the closer the key,
the freedom of the human mind in belief.

There is so much more we can do if we only believe possibilities are there for us, more than we ever thought of. To free the mind is to fly, to soar above all restrictions, and realize “life is freedom”. Excellent work, Tony. Take care my dear poet.
