For the Very First Time

Eyes the depth of a universe,
an infinite play of the unknown,
yet beauty in vibrant sapphire blue,
paler than an August moon;
and as her mind explored a question,
a phrase in wonder’s dawn,
a smile crept onto those luscious lips,
just a tilt, a subtle gist.
Her spoken words so soft yet strong,
filled with a power
within which she belonged,
so comfortable in her skin;
and her playful intention setting my mind at ease
so skillfully honed, so effortlessly,
and captured I, within her spell,
perilous my imbalance, yet fears all quelled.
My sudden uncertainty
pacified by her gentle touch,
sent frantic messages of rapturous love
though a body now immersed;
and rehearsed I could have been,
but unprepared for this, her guile so complete,
so dumbfounded I, hesitation
an awkward embarrassment, an unstable bliss.
Her hand over mine,
that touch now an afferent explosion,
a reassurance of pure intention,
yet mine not pure at all;
as I stall for words,
stumble over my glowing heart,
as she tells me of love’s start,
and would I take that step.
I nod like a moron,
unable to form a word of sense,
and she leans forward for a kiss
my emotional climax spent;
yet that soft cloud-like embellishment,
did carry me off to worlds unknown,
my eyes closed in free flight,
the stirring within me, so prone.
And as I looked into her delicate face,
all thoughts did dissipate,
the stars glimmered more somehow
in the sunshine of her grace;
and never will I forget that night,
when love was delivered, as my heart quivered,
awakened in body and mind,
for the very first time.

So romantic, emotive and nicely penned. Amazing the moods and reactions love and desire can do to one. Well done, Tony.
Cheers! Glad you enjoyed it Phyllis. Take care.
Its such a rush. And you are right, it seems as though your intelligence takes the night off that magical night. Words are mumbled into frantic noises and head nods as the apex of the evening commences. Great piece my friend, imagery was intense as well. Nice job.
Much appreciated Paul, glad you enjoyed it my friend. Cheers!
