The Burden of Truth, the Ease of Delusion

How truly my heart absconds with truth,
as if to hide from my illusory mind,
and there is a comfort in a molded reality,
lessened to sting within a harsh mentality,
and perhaps it is well, that reality is bathed
in a gossamer easement that placates our woes,
as so often we bend under our own harsh demands,
relentless commands of believed right.
Perhaps it is the ploy, to abide truth
up until it causes us harm,
and then the charm to live in delusion,
to placate the illusion that best serves us whole,
and in that create a happiness of imagination,
as who can tell the difference,
delusion a placating flow of restitution,
from the harsh damages of life.
Perhaps true happiness lives in delusion,
as life is rough, and lessons harsher still,
as we traverse this tundra of illusions,
some affixed, others passed by in deny-ability,
for we in protection can keep apart
the harsh realities of the heart,
the dark remedies of transgressions,
lessons in deny-ability and accepting harm.
This passage of life is strewn with strife,
obstacles of learning that can bring us to our knees,
and often the delusions of segregation are wanted,
for their rest and relief from reality,
and at the expense of truth,
delusions can be a ruse of kinder stuff,
a pacifying bluff that allows a wanted break,
and in refreshed take, advantages us.
I cannot quantify truth, for delusions too,
in a ruse of harsher circumstance,
give comfort and healing to once again aspire,
a fire burning bright without impurity,
and sometimes we need immunity
from the burdens of life,
to rest and strengthen our higher aspirations,
and cope with ourselves.
After all, happiness is a decision,
an execution of demeanor that needs no reason,
and so if delusion seeks to placate the ache,
rest and partake in a healing recovery,
then let delusion ride,
sympathize with our undulations in life,
and when healed the burden of truth
is far lessened.

Very well phrased work, Tony. If delusion can lessen pain temporarily then the truth is easier to grasp. Well done.
Glad you enjoyed it Phyllis, take care.
