Love Must Save Us
Nothing can placate this yearning,
this malaise of incompleteness,
driven by a hopeless sense of irresolution,
unfathomable truths that singe
the parameters of reality,
burning ever-slowly from the outside in,
from the mentality of people lost of mind.
The world on the edge of extinction,
rallying allies in the pursuit
of pointless wars and acquisitions,
decisions that leave life in peril,
and for what change does it bring,
for lives devoid of equality and peace,
released from one prison to another.
We are fodder, no more no less,
like cattle to the slaughter,
wars and hatred made to order,
just to do the bidding of our controllers,
their motives far from our welfare or needs,
some patriotic visions painted free for us to sate,
a compliance built on hatred’s cause.
This technology-era
where lies are painted truth with ease,
lies followed on TV, and believe it all we do,
circumstances construed to gain our trust,
our support, our blind patriotic resort,
for the smooth flowing administrations
of those with private agendas, beyond our knowing.
No conspiracy, just common knowledge,
in broad daylight robbery,
that we in our apathy allow,
while those with money buy our world from beneath our feet,
and we within their orchestrated class segregation,
fall deeper into debt, into the mire
of those with a lit match, standing next to our funeral pyre.
I am beyond consolation,
the disappointment just another clothing worn,
another veil of truth known and accepted,
for love has reflected all it can,
but choices have been made, the tirade
an oppression we must endure,
as narcissistic rule consumes us.
