Compare the Pair

Compare we may,
other lives and circumstance,
and in judgement claim persecution, yet
the circumstance we are in is for our benefit alone,
and no matter how seemingly better off someone else,
they are simply following their path as well,
prone to all the learning they require.
Inequity is our perception of good or bad,
not the circumstance itself,
for we have or will bear similarly
our observance at some point, thus
finding fault in our selfish view,
and as we are all unique,
each circumstance is new in reality.
We may be envious,
we may feel a deep-seated jealousy,
for what someone has or is,
but that is their path not ours,
and wanting to be someone else
just placate our own purpose here,
our path for the learning of our unique soul.
If a life were ours to experience,
we would already have it
and striving for it, may in the end shed a light
on what we really want,
most often not what we thought,
thus the truth about the journey and destination,
which reveals our imperfect thinking.
Judgement is our way of categorising life,
using reason to try to understand reality,
but we often judge from the negative,
motivated by emotions like jealousy, greed,
and self-centered views of ultimate manipulation
that create imbalance
and paths of false benefit.
Comparison is a tool of understanding,
not a statement of an egocentric stance,
and so treat your own life as the path it is meant to be,
and invest in its growth and understanding,
rather than wanting something other
than your own needs,
in the evolution of the soul within.
