A Beautiful Soul

Beautiful Soul …

beautiful soul
Love is a beautiful soul.

A beautiful soul
knows love deep within,
will find its way to truths,
and gives the self
the time needed to take
that first step,
which will lead to a life
of love unconditional.

Love is like a flower
that reaches for the light,
the life-giving sun,
where it reaches its
greatest potential,
and thrives with nurturing care,
water to quench its thirst,
and the space to grow.

Love is like a cloud,
that rises above all cares
of the world,
to bask in freedom,
tethered not to strings or restraints,
just free to grow to its own form,
its own way of life
in its own time.

Like a mountain
that reaches for the sky,
and stands strong,
love will find its strength
to reach its highest truths,
to give and receive
the chance to climb higher,
to follow its own path.

A forest offers shelter
for all that grows there,
gives a home and safety
to all living beings,
so, too, does love
give a home and comfort,
shelter and safety,
from harm outside.

Appreciate the trees,
for the beauty they give us,
the shade, blossoms and fruits
we so love to enjoy and taste,
with limbs that reach for the stars,
and roots that grow deep,
for with true love
we are blessed with the same.

Love is a beautiful soul
who has found the way
to take a first step.
Love is you ….

I am an author on TCE and write mainly in poetry and short stories. I have always liked to write. It is important to me that writing comes from my heart and soul. When writing poetry, if I do not feel a spiritual connection to what I am writing on, I will discard it and go on to something I can connect with on a spiritual level. I live in the moment, I write from the past or beyond the veil. When writing fiction I go with whatever inspires me at the moment - it could be funny, sorrowful, romantic or sometimes done with the use of colloquial language from mountain folk or other cultural regions. I began writing content online in 2007, starting with BellaOnline - A Voice For Women, where I was the Native American Editor, Folklore & Mythology Editor, and the Appalachian Editor. I also wrote articles for The Examiner, Daily Two Cents, and Yahoo. I am currently an author on HubPages. Most of what I write takes a lot of research and I love it. Even if it is a fictional story, I will research for accuracy in whatever it takes to make my characters, their era, their location, etc. become realistic to the reader. I hope you enjoy my works. Thank you for visiting.

I was thinking of this poem as I gazed at the beautiful fluffy white clouds floating in the azure blue sky, and words began forming in my head. I was sitting by my favorite tree and felt the connection between love and nature, then I wrote stanza six to include in the poem: Appreciate the trees …

I hope all who read will enjoy it.

Now knowing all the other things that went into this piece like your favorite tree and sitting under the clouds it bring this piece to an even better place. Lovely poetry Phyllis
